Enter Infrared Thermography. IR Thermography compares the surface temperature differences that can be caused by air, or moisture infiltration, mold, electrical and plumbing issues.

Both these images show missing insulation in the attic. The room temperature was 76° F. The attic was 146° F. Outside temp 97° F.

Use thermography for new building or home commissioning. Did the contractor put insulation in the walls or ceiling? Once the sheet rock is up, you may never know.
